Beer boffins take note: the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival is back to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Fine booze fans will find plenty here to keep them refreshed, including more than 900 real ales, ciders, perries and top-quality craft beers.
New to the event this year is a range of English wines from top local producers. Pause to refuel on stomach-lining street food, watch live bands perform and get involved in the pub games.
For an extra fee, you can sign yourself up for a tutored beer tasting, adding an academic air to your sampling and making your beer boffin status that bit more official. £11 one-day entry, £29 for the whole festival.
